Is this jewelry box has been made fairly well. It will present a nice gift. I believe the sound quality of this will only get better with time. Is overall a pretty and simple look.

This is an absolutely lovely music/jewelry box. It is made of beautiful, solid wood. The top opens easily and smoothly. The area to wind up the music box is on the bottom and the winding key turns smoothly. The music played is “You are my sunshine.” The tune is played smoothly and loud enough to easily hear. If you wind it up all the way, the song will play 4-5 times. The inside is lined with a thin velvet. The jewelry box comes neatly packed in a box that looks like it is meant to be given as a gift. I would recommend this as a gift to a grandmother, mom or daughter.

Bought for my 2 great nieces. They are my sisters 2 granddaughters, she passed in 2005, my sister always sang you are my sunshine to them. I cried and they cried, since her passing I’ve been Gmaw to them.

This is a well made music box with jewelry storage that comes in a handsome gift box. I ordered it for my wife, the song has a special significance to us going back many years. She loved it and keeps it by her bedside. The wood is handsome and well finished. Very happy overall, though I thought the song tempo was a bit faster than I'm used to. When I saw this music box I immediately thought of my father. He used to seeing you are my sunshine to me when I was a little girl. So with that in mind, it does make a great gift. He loves it. He's almost 90 and anything nostalgic or from his childhood he is all about. Which I get. It is actually a jewelry box as well as a music box. The wood smells so good. So I know it's real wood. It's easy to wind and it does have a good volume. Definitely a niche gift. But he loves it therefore I do.

This is more of a music box not very useful as a jewelry box if you have a lot of jewelry. I don't wish to minimize its quality by that statement. It's well made with good long-lasting material such as walnut combined with a Golden Sankyo Mechanism. The mechanism is made by a well respected Japanese manufacturer. Golden Sankyo Mechanism manufacturer has a rich history of making quality music for jewelry boxes. I think it is a nice box that is gift quality for any occasion. The craftsmanship shows with this item. The sound is pleasant to hear when opened. The lid hinges are secure and attractive. They add a nice blend of wood and metal . I think those that receive this as a gift will be very happy.

I was momentarily struck by how lovely this jewelry box is when I first opened it. The wood is smooth to the touch and and the color is bold. The box is well built and doesn't seem like it would break super easily. The wind up key is on the bottom to get the music ready to play. The lid is kept closed by a magnet that keeps it closed securely but it isn't so strong that it makes opening difficult. I love that I can see the inner mechanisms of the box while it's playing You Are My Sunshine. There's something hypnotizing about it for me. As for storing jewelry, the inside is lined with velvet pockets and divots to keep everything protected. I like that there's a hook for hanging up necklaces so they're less likely to get tangled. This would make a wonderful gift

Makes a wonderful gift, this music box plays the infamous 'You Are My Sunshine' that I used to sing to my daughter as a baby... and now it makes a great jewelry box that reminds her each time she opens it of her beginnings. It's quite well crafted and packaged well to make an excellent gift. While not huge in terms of size, for a young girl or someone without a ton of jewelry or just wants a few select pieces on display, this box is perfect.

I got this music box for my husband because of the song. I always sang, "You Are my Sunshine" to him and our daughter whenever they were sick. Of course now I'm singing it to my granddaughter. Music is pleasant and relaxing. When lid is open you can see the music wheel playing. Really enjoy that feature! The overall box is smooth and well crafted. Provides space for a couple necklaces, slots for rings and a nice space for earrings. Enjoy opening lid every morning and evening after turning dial on bottom of chest.

This music/jewelry box is for a gift for our granddaughter. My wife like many moms and grandmothers have sung "You Are My Sunshine" to their little ones. My wife would like to give this to our granddaughter to help bond those memories of how much she was treasured as a child and still is of course. The box is actually very nice walnut and not veneered lesser quality construction. The music box works well and even though the box is somewhat small, it is a nice size for a music box and will be attractive on my granddaughter's dresser. If she only puts the jewelry in it that grandma gave here it will work well. Overall this is a very attractive and quality product for the price.

This jewelry box is made out of a beautiful wood and soft to the touch, not like others that are often a raw/rough wood that is unfinished. The "You are my sunshine" melody starts right away as you open the box, and it's a traditional sound of other music boxes. You can wind up the music from the bottom, and it will play when opened, but the melody is a bit quick. The box is also quite small, only fitting two rows of rings, a small space for miscellaneous jewelry, and then some clips on the lid that you can hang your earrings or a necklace. Keep in mind that this won't fit THAT much jewelry, comfortably around 5-7 pieces, so don't purchase should you need a lot more storage. I thought it was simple, chic, and sentimental since that tune has meaning to us.
